XENBAR is the latest entrance to the Singapore Clubbing Scene that prides itself to be the No. 1 Authentic Salsa Club in Singapore offering salsa music up to 7 days a week.

Salsa, the Latino version of social dance has been a hit in LA, New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and in most major cities around the world. This craze is now finding its way to the hearts of Singaporeans. Situated at the heart of Chinatown on Pagoda Street, Xenbar appeals to the increasing number of salsa lovers.

One would follow the Latin music up the staircase to the first deck to find the bar dance gear retail outlet and a member's corner. Following a short flight of see through stairs in the middle of the Club, you hit the main dance area where you will find people on the dance floor filled with style, jazz and sex appeal. This is where the top Singapore Salsa dancers and other salsa lovers twist, turn and cavort to the Latin Beat. As you mingle around the club, one will be amazed as most of the dancers are of highly qualified professionals such as doctors, lawyers and bankers. It is a club where dancers leave their professions as they enter the club and are transfixed to the Latin dance and music.

Climbing another flight of stairs to the 3rd deck, visually sophisticated red lanterns with red sofas and cushion greets you. This is a perfect place to watch over the dancers, as it over looks the dance floor. Tucked at the back of the club, the Cabana Clove offers a hide out away from the crowd. Filled with mirrors, you will often find new comers too shy to be on the main dance floor moving to the salsa beat. As basic salsa is easy to pickup you will see a lot of first timer dancing just after a few minutes in the club.

First time clubbers to Xenbar will be amazed at how graceful Salsa is danced and will often be inspired to learn more sophisticated moves. To cater this, Xenbar offers new beginners salsa class everyday at 7:15pm and Intermediate class at 8:15pm. Some new dancers will be intimidated by how good the dancers are on the dance floor. However upon knowing that many of them have only just pick up the dance, they are once again inspired. It does not take much to learn the dance. Xenbar prides itself with its’ dance syllabus where dancers pick up the dance within the first lesson. Combined with its unique teaching methods, the club offers the perfect ambience to acquire the dance skills on an accelerated pace. Classes are held before the club springs into full gear, giving students a chance to learn the steps and then practice it on the dance floor later.

This unique open concept split-level club is so hot that the dance floor is usually jam packed with salsa lovers on Wednesday, and Friday nights. Even if one was not into salsa music, they will most likely fall in love with the Club at the end of the night. A lot of first timers enjoy themselves so much that some are seen coming back every night. Foreign tourists are known at many occasions to have delay or change their flight schedule and even fly to Singapore on weekends to dance at Xenbar.

Clubbers are often amazed when the clubs plays Bachata and Merengue as the dance floor is filled with couples dancing in close proximity, with the male’s knee in between the girl’s legs. It is like being transported to the Caribbean Island where no one wants the night to end. This is probably the only club where a male can be this close to a total female stranger without offending her.
